Update 23/11-14
Two things:
  1. It is possible to move around markers placed by others. So be careful when dragging yourself across the map!
  2. Markers with no names will be removed.

Some of you might remember this journal that I posted mere hours before dA started acting crazy back in September (those of you who were a "victim" of this blackout remember this). It was about a map I had "created" on Google maps. My intent is that it will replace the current two maps (America and Africa, Asia, Europe & Oceania) because I have really grown tired of editing those but at the same time I like the idea (as do 180+ of you people out there!).

Things got in the way back then so I never really made an effort to really get it launched but now I do want to get this rolling. Fun thing though: You need a Google account to add your own markers to the map despite my attempts to change the settings. But that is easy to get past as it doesn't take many seconds to create one, you can even use a non-gmail adress. You can still view the map without being logged in.

The best thing with this map is that you don't need to go through me to change something about you stable's location, name or info. We'll see if it works, see it as a social experiment ;) The link is at the bottom of this journal.

There is this not so easy text to read that explains a few things once you get to the map, I've made it slightly more readable below:

  • Here anyone with an art-RPG stable on deviantart.com can add the location of their stable if they like.
  • There are two layers at the moment: 'Independent stables' and 'HorseArt-RPG members'.
  • Just click on the layer you want to place your marker on and add the marker on the map with the marker-tool located right below the search bar. Change the colour and symbol of your marker as you please.
  • Always name your marker with your stable's name and your username in the box below. Any additional info or links are up to you.
  • If you don't have a specific place for your stable we'll go by the general rule that it's somewhere within a 100 km radius from your mark
  • If you have a stable located in another world or on another planet I suggest that you place it:
    • a) In your own country (as close or far away from the place you live that you feel comfortable with).
    • b) In the middle of an ocean of your choice.
